TEHRAN (MNN); China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reaffirmed Beijing’s support for sustaining the ceasefire and advancing peace negotiations between Iran and the United States during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, according to AFP.
Wang Yi stressed that continuing dialogue serves the “fundamental interests” of the Iranian people and reflects the shared aspirations of regional countries as well as the wider international community.
He further stated that China is ready to play a “constructive role” in promoting stability and peace in the Middle East, particularly after the first round of Iran-US talks held in Islamabad concluded without a breakthrough.
