Global Times: China firmly opposes coercive diplomacy and will resolutely support Cuba in safeguarding its national sovereignty and opposing external interference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a regular press conference on Wednesday, when asked to comment on remarks by Cuban President Miguel DĂaz-Canel in a recent interview with US media that Cuba is willing to engage in dialogue with the US on the basis of mutual respect, equality and without preconditions, while firmly rejecting political demands such as calls for his resignation.Â
The Cuban president said Cuba does not pose a threat to the US and Washington has no justification for military aggression. US again issued threats against Cuba on Monday, saying it may address Cuba after the Iran issue is resolved, media reported.
