Enduring Ties Between Pakistan and China Celebrated Through Historic Photo Exhibition

A photographic showcase hosted by the Pakistani Embassy underscored the unwavering bond between Pakistan and China, described as an “Iron Brotherhood” shaped by history, nurtured by citizens, and anchored in future aspirations. The event marked 74 years of bilateral diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s pivotal 2015 visit to Pakistan.

Vice Minister Sun Haiyan of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, serving as chief guest, praised the exhibition as a “perfect title to define China-Pakistan friendship.” Reflecting on the nations’ solidarity, she recounted a poignant 2015 anecdote in which an elderly Pakistani citizen donated land in Gwadar for a school dedicated to bilateral amity. “This is going to be a school of Pakistan-China friendship, so it should be contributed by both peoples,” the man stated, embodying grassroots commitment to the partnership.

Pakistani Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, delivering the keynote address, hailed the collection as a “living testament to the constancy of a friendship that has withstood the tests of time, transitions, and trials.” The display featured archival imagery spanning pivotal moments, including Pakistan Air Force jets escorting President Xi’s plane during his 2015 visit and Pakistan International Airlines’ historic 1964 inaugural flight to China as the first non-communist carrier.

“This friendship is not the product of convenience,” emphasized Ambassador Hashmi, invoking verses by poet Allama Iqbal to frame the relationship as a deliberate choice rooted in mutual respect. “Let this exhibition remind us not only of what we have achieved, but what we continue to stand for—peace, prosperity, stability, and trust,” he added.

Spanning decades of collaboration, the exhibition honored shared milestones while reinforcing a collective vision. Officials from both nations reaffirmed that the Pakistan-China partnership, fortified by enduring public support and strategic alignment, remains steadfast for generations to come.
