A spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry highlighted that the United States and allied nations were identified as primary sources of cyberattacks targeting critical systems during the ninth Asian Winter Games. The allegations stem from a report jointly issued by China’s National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center and the National Engineering Laboratory for Computer Virus Prevention Technology on Thursday.

The analysis revealed that information systems linked to the Games and essential network infrastructures in Heilongjiang Province faced extensive foreign-origin cyber intrusions. Investigators traced the attacks to multiple locations, including the United States, the Netherlands, and Singapore.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun addressed the findings during a press briefing, stating, *“We take note of the report and express serious concerns over the malicious cyber activity it has exposed.”* He emphasized that the findings underscore China’s status as a frequent global target of cyber aggression.

Guo further urged the U.S. to *“adopt a responsible attitude, reflect on itself, and refrain from slandering others,”* while affirming China’s commitment to bolstering its cyber defenses. *“China will continue to take necessary measures to protect its own cybersecurity,”* he added. The remarks follow heightened calls for accountability and international cooperation to address escalating cyber threats.
