BOI identifies 15 sites along CPEC route to set up industrial zones

Islamabad: Board of Investment (BOI) in consultation with all the provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan has so far identified 15 sites for the establishment of Special Industrial Zones alongside China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

According to an official of Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, seven sites have been identified in Balochistan and eight in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also constituted a committee to identify the potential sites of industrial zones along western passage of CPEC.

Meanwhile, implementation of work on Gwadar Free Zone has already started and land for this purpose had been handed over to the Port Operator.
