Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has termed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project as the game changer not for only Pakistan but for the entire region, adding that its security was Pakistan Armyâs national undertaking.
According to the militaryâs media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Raheel Sharif was speaking at the 89th Foundation Day ceremony of Chinaâs Peopleâs Liberation Army in Islamabad on Thursday.
â[Pakistan] will leave no stone unturned to ensure its timely completion and uninterrupted success,â the ISPR quoted Gen Raheel saying.
Appreciating the Gen Raheelâs stance, Chinese officials thanked Pakistan Army for creating the protective environment in order to ensure CPECâs safety. They also paid gratitude to the troops for wiping out terrorism in and around CPEC region.
The army chief praised PLAâs determination and its unity to complete its task.
âThe PLA is most formidable force that reminds power of peoplesâ unity for which no goal is too high, no distance too long and no task too hard,â said the army chief.
The army chief has also reiterated Pakistan Armyâs resolve in breaking down the nexus between terrorism and corruption.
