In a significant academic partnership, the University of Gwadar (UG) and the School of International Relations at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in China have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster collaborative research and academic exchanges. This agreement specifically prioritizes joint initiatives in Area Studies and the Coastal Belt Research Program.

The MoU, formally executed in Zhuhai, China, signifies a mutual dedication to fostering academic cooperation grounded in the principles of equality, mutual respect, and the pursuit of shared objectives.

The documented agreement details extensive collaboration across several key areas. This includes joint research endeavors, programs for talent development, the organization of collaborative symposia, and robust knowledge-sharing mechanisms. Furthermore, the MoU explicitly outlines plans to establish dedicated joint research projects. It also commits both institutions to actively promoting academic and cultural exchange activities designed to underpin the sustainable, long-term development of coastal regions within their respective nations.
