“This is not just a training program—it is a capacity-building mission aimed at empowering the Global South.”

The HUCM-COMSTECH collaboration signifies the expanding academic and scientific ties between China and the Islamic world. By providing specialized training to laboratory technologists, technicians, and researchers—with particular encouragement for women and applicants from Least Developed Countries (LDCs)—the program also actively promotes inclusivity, equity, and sustainable development objectives.

Eligibility extends to professionals affiliated with universities, hospitals, and research institutions holding degrees in engineering technology, laboratory sciences, or related STEM disciplines. The cohort notably includes seven female participants: two from Uganda, and one each from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Sudan, and Turkey.

The JTTP exemplifies China’s increasing role as a pivotal scientific collaborator for developing nations, particularly within the OIC community. HUCM contributes its distinctive expertise, renowned for interdisciplinary research spanning modern medicine, biotechnology, and traditional Chinese medicine, to this significant partnership.
