GUANGZHOU: A Russian naval fleet, including two frigates and a medium-sized replenishment vessel, arrived in Guangdong Province in southern China on Wednesday to begin a five-day friendly visit.
The fleet, displaying the national flags of both Russia and China, docked at a military port in Zhanjiang on Wednesday morning, where a welcoming ceremony was organized by the Chinese side.
Throughout the visit, naval personnel from both countries will take part in ship tours, attend receptions, engage in professional exchanges, and participate in sports activities.
The ships are part of Russiaâs Pacific Fleet and have previously been involved in joint cooperation and exchange programs between the two navies.
The visit is described as a routine friendly engagement intended to strengthen mutual trust and practical cooperation, and is “neither targeted at any third party nor linked to the current international and regional situation.”
