China has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s upcoming state visit is expected to further deepen cooperation and advance bilateral relations between Beijing and Moscow, according to a statement by a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson.
President Xi Jinping and President Putin are set to discuss a wide range of issues, including bilateral relations, practical cooperation across multiple sectors, and key international and regional developments of shared interest, the spokesperson said on Monday.
Putin will undertake a state visit to China from May 19 to 20 at the invitation of Xi Jinping. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun noted that this will mark Putin’s 25th visit to China.
“The two sides will take this visit as an opportunity to continue to promote the development of China-Russia relations to a higher level, which will inject greater stability and positive energy into the world,” Guo said.
