Beijing: A Pakistani national, Zafar ud-Din Mahmood, has been awarded the prestigious Orchid Award by the Chinese government in recognition of his exceptional contributions to strengthening Pakistan-China friendship and fostering people-to-people connectivity.
The Orchid Award celebrates individuals worldwide who have made outstanding efforts in promoting mutual understanding, cultural exchanges, and cooperation with China. Mahmood, who previously served as the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor), expressed his profound gratitude upon receiving the award. He affirmed his commitment to continue working towards promoting further understanding and friendship between the two nations.
Chinese officials present at the ceremony lauded Mahmood’s dedication, referring to him as a “true friend of China” and commending his pivotal role in advancing cultural harmony and public diplomacy between Pakistan and China.
