The Embassy of Pakistan, in partnership with the Pakistan Women’s Association of Beijing (PWAB), recently hosted a philanthropic fundraiser titled *“Dil Se Pakistan”* at its premises in Beijing. Led by Marium Mahmood, spouse of Pakistani Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, the event united members of the diplomatic corps, Chinese dignitaries, and philanthropic contributors to generate funds for children battling Thalassemia—a severe genetic blood disorder demanding lifelong medical care.
During his address, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi underscored the initiative’s significance as a humanitarian effort to aid vulnerable children. “This gathering symbolizes our shared commitment to alleviating the suffering of Thalassemia patients, who represent a precious segment of our future generations,” he stated. Hashmi commended PWAB for its unwavering dedication and acknowledged donors for their generosity, while also thanking Chinese community representatives and diplomats for their participation.
Long Yuxiang, Executive Chairman of the China International Cultural Communication Center, praised attendees for their enduring support of Pakistan-China relations. “Your solidarity reflects the depth of our bilateral friendship and collective resolve to champion noble causes,” he remarked.
In a notable gesture, Henry Man Hin Chan, General Manager of Harvest Epoch Strategic (International) Investment Limited, pledged a contribution of 200,000 RMB to the Pakistan Thalassemia Welfare Society. The event concluded with calls for sustained collaboration to address healthcare challenges facing marginalized communities.
