Pakistani digital trade solutions provider WBM solidified its role as a key connector between international markets during the 10th Shenzhen International Cross-Border E-Commerce Trade Expo. This prominence coincides with global e-commerce penetration reaching 42.4% in 2025, representing a near doubling from 2018 levels.

The expansive trade event, covering 40,000 square meters and featuring over 1,000 exhibitors within China’s e-commerce hub, showcased the nation’s significant advances in digital commerce innovations. These advancements ranged from AI-driven product selection tools to blockchain-integrated supply chain solutions.

This expo occurs against the backdrop of China’s cross-border e-commerce transactions recording a robust 14 percent year-on-year increase, achieving an import-export volume of 2.71 trillion yuan in 2024. Edward Zhou, General Manager of WBM China, emphasized the broader significance, stating, “China’s advanced e-commerce ecosystem offers transformative potential for emerging markets.” He further noted, “Our participation helps position Pakistan as the next strategic partner for Chinese enterprises expanding globally.”

WBM’s presence in China underscores deepening economic ties, tracing its journey from an initial exploratory visit in 1998, establishing its first manufacturing plant in Guangdong province in 2011, to now operating three distinct entities across production, trading, and supply chain management within the country.

At the expo, WBM demonstrated its comprehensive two-way trade facilitation model. The company offers Chinese brands end-to-end support for entering the Pakistan market, encompassing warehousing, localized logistics, and digital marketing services. Concurrently, it leverages China’s efficient trade infrastructure to promote premium Pakistani exports, such as Himalayan pink salt and Basmati rice, to global buyers.

Edward Zhou highlighted the expo’s tangible outcomes: “The expo enabled WBM to advance negotiations with leading Chinese fintech and logistics providers while fielding numerous inquiries about Pakistan’s digital market potential.” These engagements illustrate how China’s maturing cross-border infrastructure is actively generating new international commerce opportunities. Beyond facilitating immediate business deals, the event significantly elevated Pakistan’s profile within China’s digital commerce community.

Edward Zhou explained the strategic shift, “We’re reshaping perceptions of Pakistan as a dynamic digital economy that offers mutual benefits,” underscoring the country’s increasing integration with China’s sophisticated cross-border ecosystems.
