KARACHI (MNN); The Pakistan Navy and People’s Liberation Army Navy have successfully concluded their joint maritime exercise, Sea Guardian-IV, held from March 25 to April 1, aimed at strengthening interoperability and regional maritime collaboration.
According to an official statement, the exercise was conducted in two phases, beginning with a five-day port call in Karachi, followed by a two-day sea phase in the North Arabian Sea.
During the port phase, the PLA Navy vessel Daqing was accorded a warm reception by PNS Taimur upon its arrival in Karachi. Activities included mutual visits aboard naval ships, tours of key maritime facilities, and professional exchanges focusing on modern maritime security challenges. A maiden Young Officers Seminar was also organized to promote knowledge-sharing between the two navies.
In the subsequent sea phase, naval units from both sides carried out a series of advanced operational drills. These included air defence exercises against multi-domain threats, coordinated operations with a Pakistan Navy submarine, traditional naval warfare manoeuvres, and live gunnery firing exercises.
Officials noted that the drills significantly enhanced coordination and interoperability at both tactical and operational levels.
The exercise concluded with a joint coordinated patrol in the Arabian Sea, highlighting the shared commitment of both navies to ensuring maritime security and stability in the region.
