URUMQI, CHINA; Pakistan and China on Friday signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at expanding cooperation in the fields of livestock, textile industry, and advanced emergency equipment.

President Asif Ali Zardari witnessed the signing ceremony between Pakistani and Chinese enterprises during his visit to Urumqi.

Under the first MoU, Loyang Modern Biotechnologies and the Sindh government will collaborate to modernize Pakistan’s livestock sector, with a focus on improving food security and rural employment.

The second MoU, signed between Beijing Asian Africa Longyue and ASM Services, outlines plans for the development of a modern textile industrial park in Pakistan to promote industrial growth and exports.

The third MoU was inked between Sichuan Chuanxiao Fire Trucks Manufacturing Company and ASM Services, establishing a framework for the supply, distribution, sales, and after-sales services of fire trucks and advanced emergency equipment in Pakistan.

Addressing the ceremony, President Zardari said the agreements mark an important step in strengthening Pak-China partnership by opening new avenues of economic cooperation.

He stressed that modernizing the livestock industry would create new jobs and ensure food security, while the textile industrial park would enhance exports and support industrialization.

He further noted that the cooperation on fire trucks and emergency equipment would improve Pakistan’s disaster response capacity and help safeguard communities.
