A high-level three-member delegation from Punjab Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) arrived in China on Monday to finalize agreements for launching Electric Vehicle (EV) Technology Diploma Programs for Pakistani students.
The initiative, part of the China-Pakistan Digital Corridor under CPEC 2.0, marks a major step in boosting technical education and future-focused skills in Pakistan.
The partnership involves Punjab TEVTA, Xiangyang Polytechnic Vocational College, ITMC Technology Co., Ltd, and UNI Services International Pvt. Ltd. The agreements will enable Pakistani students to receive specialized EV training aligned with global industry needs and Pakistan’s demand for skilled talent in sustainable mobility.
Speaking to media, Yasser Shakoor, Director of UNI International, said the collaboration will “open new horizons for Pakistani students by providing cutting-edge EV technology skills and strengthening China-Pakistan cooperation in vocational training.”
The delegation will also visit Dongfeng Motor Corporation to finalize its role as an industry partner. This collaboration will support the creation of a state-of-the-art Center of Excellence (COE) in EV Technology at Government College of Technology (GCT) Rawalpindi, offering hands-on learning and modern training facilities.
The COE will feature advanced equipment, industry-standard labs, and opportunities for joint research, internships, and practical training. Stakeholders say the project will help narrow Pakistan’s technology and skills gap, preparing students for careers in EV manufacturing, maintenance, battery systems, and charging infrastructure.
