Karachi Super Mini Truck Plant: A New Era for Pakistan-China Cooperation

In a significant step toward industrial growth and technology transfer, the Government of Sindh has announced the launch of a Super Mini Truck assembly plant in Karachi, in collaboration with Chinese investors.

The announcement was made by Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon during the unveiling ceremony of the Super Mini Truck in Bozhou, China. He confirmed that Chinese partners have agreed to establish the plant in Karachi, which will benefit business groups and individuals across the country.

He also revealed plans to introduce electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Sindh in the near future.

The Super Mini Truck is a newly developed vehicle by Chery Holding and Peddy Technology Company Limited. A key feature of the vehicle is its convertibility — it can be adapted into a super mini car, offering flexibility for transport needs.

Memon praised the vehicle as a symbol of Pakistan-China industrial cooperation, calling it a development that would open new doors for growth and prosperity in both countries.

He described the Super Mini Truck as a sustainable, affordable, and accessible solution to logistical challenges in both urban and rural areas, highlighting its advanced engineering, smart design, and environmental compatibility.

The upcoming plant in Karachi is expected to boost local auto manufacturing, promote parts localization, create new jobs, and facilitate technology transfer. Memon said this initiative is a practical move to transform Karachi into a regional automotive manufacturing hub.

He also assured full regulatory support, infrastructure development, and technical training from the Sindh government to ensure the project’s success.
