Gorakhpur Nursery playing significant role in keeping Rawalpindi green
Gorakhpur Nursery is ensuring supply of plants and seasonal flowers to parks and public across Rawalpindi and making pivotal role in improving air quality index in the garrison city, said Director General PHA Rawalpindi.
Director General Parks and Horticulture Authority Ahmed Hasan Ranjha visited PHA Gorakhpur Nursery and inspected various sections related to planting of seasonal flowers and plants.
Gorakhpur Nursery covers an area of 1000 kanals near Adiala Road in Rawalpindi from which seasonal flowers and plants are being successfully supplied to the parks, green belts and citizens of Rawalpindi. Director General PHA Ahmed Hasan Ranjha said that Gorakhpur Nursery is playing a key role in keeping Rawalpindi city green by producing a large number of plants.
He said that the objectives of plantation are also being fulfilled from Gorakhpur nursery in Rawalpindi. The flowers and plants raised in this nursery are available to the people of government and private sectors to keep green the city, said Ahmed Hassan Ranjha.
DG, PHA said that awareness is also being provided to citizens for plant breeding and home gardening in Gorakhpur nursery and through this initiative of PHA, horticulture is growing rapidly in Rawalpindi city. Gorakhpur Nursery is one of the largest nurseries in Punjab which covers an area of 1000 kanals and continues to play an important and key role in maintaining the beauty and freshness of Rawalpindi city.
DG, PHA Ahmad Hasan Ranjha said that Gorakhpur Nursery is also playing a key role in achieving the goals of plantation drive in Rawalpindi Division and plays significant role in over all healthy environment in the Rawalpindi city.
