The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, in collaboration with the Pakistan Women’s Association of Beijing (PWAB), hosted a heartfelt fundraising event titled “Dil Se Pakistan” to support children suffering from Thalassemia, a life-threatening genetic blood disorder requiring lifelong care.

Held at the Embassy premises, the event was led by Marium Mahmood, spouse of Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi. The gathering brought together members of the diplomatic community, Chinese friends, and philanthropists in a shared effort to raise awareness and funds for Thalassemia treatment in Pakistan.

Ambassador Hashmi, addressing the attendees, emphasized the importance of collective action in supporting vulnerable children. “This event reflects our shared humanity and commitment to helping those in need,” he said, lauding the dedication of PWAB and the generosity of the donors. He also extended his gratitude to the Chinese community and diplomatic corps for their presence and contributions.

Long Yuxiang, Executive Chairman of the China International Cultural Communication Center, commended the strong people-to-people bonds between China and Pakistan, and expressed appreciation for those supporting this meaningful cause.

Highlighting the spirit of the evening, Mr. Henry Man Hin Chan, General Manager of Harvest Epoch Strategic (International) Investment Limited, announced a generous donation of 200,000 RMB to the Pakistan Thalassemia Welfare Society, reinforcing the cross-border commitment to humanitarian efforts.

The event underscored the growing solidarity between the two nations—not only in diplomacy and development, but also in compassion and community care.
