Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev convened the inaugural China–Kyrgyzstan foreign ministers’ strategic dialogue in Bishkek on Wednesday.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said the new dialogue mechanism is a practical step toward implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries.
He noted that it will enhance strategic mutual trust, strengthen coordination, and expand bilateral cooperation.He added that building a China–Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future—rooted in good-neighborliness, friendship, and common prosperity—serves the core interests of both nations.
China, he said, is ready to deepen coordination with Kyrgyzstan on global issues and fully supports Bishkek as it assumes the rotating chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.Kulubaev reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to the one-China principle and expressed readiness to advance Belt and Road cooperation.
He highlighted plans to expand collaboration in trade, investment, agriculture, mining, and connectivity, including accelerating work on the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway. He also emphasized boosting cultural and people-to-people exchanges.Kyrgyzstan is prepared to work closely with China to implement the four major global initiatives proposed by Beijing, strengthen cooperation within the UN, and further develop the China–Central Asia cooperation framework.
Following the meeting, both sides signed a joint statement summarizing the dialogue outcomes and a 2026–2027 cooperation program between their foreign ministries.
