A historic delegation of 50 representatives from China-Pakistan joint-venture automakers marked a milestone at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, marking the largest contingent ever fielded by Pakistan at the international event. Officials emphasized the significance of this participation, highlighting its alignment with Pakistan’s growing role in global automotive partnerships. Master Changan, a key player in the delegation, underscored Pakistan’s strategic importance in its global expansion under the Vast Ocean Plan. “Pakistan remains central to Changan’s international roadmap,” stated the company during the 2025 Changan Automobile Overseas Partners Conference, where the Pakistan venture was formally recognized as a pillar of the brand’s worldwide vision.
Delegates engaged in immersive experiences, including test drives of Changan’s latest models and tours of its advanced digital intelligence manufacturing facility and Global Research & Development Centre. Parallel to this, Haval Pakistan—a collaboration between Sazgar Engineering and China’s Great Wall Motors (GWM)—showcased its achievements, securing 10 accolades at the GWM Annual Awards 2025. “This marks the second-highest recognition among competitors from 80 nations,” remarked Abuzar Butt, Deputy General Manager of Marketing at Sazgar.
Meanwhile, MG Motors Pakistan, a joint venture between SAIC Motors and JW SEZ Group, announced its new role as the official distributor for IM Brands during the exhibition. The 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, running from April 23 to May 2, continues to draw global automakers, with China-Pakistan ventures emerging as prominent contributors to innovation and cross-border industrial synergy.
