Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message to a UN meeting on Tuesday marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, reaffirming China’s support for Palestinian rights and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Xi said the Palestinian issue remains central to the Middle East crisis, influencing global justice and regional stability.
He urged the international community to build broader consensus and take stronger action to secure a full and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and prevent renewed violence.
He emphasized that Gaza’s post-conflict reconstruction must follow the principle of “Palestinians governing Palestine,” respecting the will of the Palestinian people and the concerns of regional countries. Xi called for urgent humanitarian relief to ease the suffering in Gaza and stressed that progress must be rooted in advancing a two-state solution.
Calling the Palestinian issue a test of global governance, Xi urged countries to address its root causes, correct historical injustices, and uphold fairness and justice. As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, China will continue supporting the Palestinian people’s just struggle for their legitimate national rights and work with the international community toward a comprehensive, just and lasting solution, Xi added.
