ISLAMABAD, 22 Oct. On Saturday, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister of Finance and Revenue, reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to completing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project successfully because it will be crucial to the development of the local economy and the strengthening of bilateral ties between the two nations.
According to a news release, the minister told the People’s Republic of China ambassador, Nong Rong, who paid him a visit, that Pakistan and China had long-standing friendships that were getting stronger every day.
The minister went on to discuss the current administration’s economic plans and difficulties in achieving budgetary and economic stability. Additionally, he was grateful for the assistance provided by the Chinese government in helping Pakistan with flood relief efforts and refinancing a syndicated credit worth RMB 15 billion ($2.24 billion).
The Ambassador underlined the Chinese government’s ongoing support for Pakistan and praised the Pakistani government for assisting Chinese businesses with a number of projects there. Additionally, he guaranteed the Chinese government’s full participation and assistance in the creation of Special Economic Zones as part of CPEC.
Both parties at the discussion agreed that the scheduled visit of Pakistan’s prime minister to China will strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.
