The Yanshiping Passenger Station in Amdo County, Xizang Region, has officially opened, becoming the highest station on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway at an altitude of 4,721 meters.
The station welcomed its first passenger train on Thursday, with Train Z9817 departing at 11 a.m. carrying more than 50 passengers. Previously inactive since the railway’s launch in 2006, Yanshiping Station now joins Tuotuo River and Budongquan stations on the Golmud–Lhasa section of the line.
