The Pakistan Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) are continuing their joint counterterrorism exercise, “Warrior-IX”, taking place from 28 November to 14 December 2025. The two-week drills aim to enhance interoperability, strengthen military-to-military cooperation, and improve coordinated counterterrorism capabilities between the two forces.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD) ceremony was held on 11 December at the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) in Pabbi.Jiang Zaidong, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, attended the event along with senior Chinese officials. The Chief of General Staff of the Pakistan Army graced the ceremony as the guest of honour.
During the visit, the dignitaries were briefed on the exercise’s scope, objectives, and operational framework. They observed a range of counterterrorism drills and praised the professionalism, operational readiness, and high morale displayed by troops from both countries.
ISPR stated that the exercise underscores the deep defence cooperation between Pakistan and China and reaffirms their shared commitment to promoting regional peace, security, and stability.
