Global delegates gathered in Nanchang, east China’s Jiangxi Province, for the 2025 World Green Development Investment and Trade Expo & China Green Food Expo, where cutting-edge green technologies and sustainable products were in the spotlight.
A robot named “Pasini,” equipped with nearly 2,000 tactile sensors, drew large crowds as it demonstrated advanced embodied-intelligence features. Indian blogger Amit Kumar livestreamed the scene for his followers overseas, calling the expo an impressive blend of innovative green technologies and eco-friendly global cuisine.
Held from Nov. 27 to 30, the event brought together more than 2,500 exhibitors from over 60 countries and regions. It showcased breakthroughs in new energy, artificial intelligence, embodied intelligence, the low-altitude economy, and green food products. Organizers reported that over 60 cooperation projects worth 45 billion yuan (about 6.36 billion US dollars) were signed.China’s efforts to advance a green energy transition were highlighted throughout the expo.
According to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, China has built the world’s largest clean energy supply system, contributing to a global reduction in wind and solar power generation costs by more than 60 percent and 80 percent, respectively. By 2024, Chinese wind and solar product exports had helped other countries reduce carbon emissions by more than 1 billion tonnes. China also accounts for 46 percent of global renewable energy jobs.
“China is actively seeking deeper cooperation in the global green industry as it works toward its carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals,” said Jia Kang, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Fiscal Sciences.
International delegates expressed similar enthusiasm. Seah Shoo Chin, Malaysian State Executive Councillor for Malacca, welcomed Chinese enterprises to explore green industry projects in the region, including waste-to-energy initiatives and opportunities in industrial parks. She said Malacca aims to deepen cooperation with China in green manufacturing, clean energy, and the circular economy.Global buyers were also impressed by the innovation on display.
Souley Flhadji Adamou from Niger tested a rideable electric suitcase capable of traveling up to 13 kilometers on a single charge, noting its strong market potential. At the Jiangxi Godfrey Technology booth, Immaculée Agbaka said more than 60 international buyers had already reached out to discuss cooperation.
At the opening ceremony, Zambia’s vice president Mutale Nalumango emphasized her country’s ambition to build a resilient green economy in response to climate challenges such as prolonged droughts and erratic rainfall. She thanked Chinese companies for investing in Zambia, particularly in industrial parks, and expressed hope for deeper cooperation in areas like green food and clean energy.
