Global Times: Commenting on US intelligence agencies’ annual threat assessment report, which claimed that China does not currently plan to resolve the Taiwan question in 2027 and seeks to “achieve unification without the use of force,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Thursday that the Taiwan question is China’s internal affair, and how to resolve the question is entirely a matter for the Chinese people and allows no interference from any external forces. The US should adhere to the one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiquĂ©s, and exercise caution in words and deeds on the Taiwan question.Â
Additionally, relevant US agencies and individuals should abandon ideological bias and the Cold War zero-sum mentality, correct their perception of China and stop hyping up the “China threat” narrative, Lin said.
