ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Saturday left for Beijing to co-chair the 7th Pakistan–China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue, scheduled for January 4, the Foreign Office (FO) announced. The FO noted that Dar is the first foreign dignitary to visit China in 2026, undertaking the trip at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
The strategic dialogue, described by the FO as the highest-level consultative mechanism between Pakistan and China, provides a structured platform to review the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of shared interest.
During the talks, the two foreign ministers are expected to identify new areas of partnership and consider steps to further strengthen the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. They are also likely to announce initiatives and commemorative activities marking the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations in 2026.
The FO emphasized that the visit reflects regular high-level exchanges and underscores both countries’ shared commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation, promoting regional peace and stability, and supporting sustainable development.
