Global Times: Chinese Embassy in Israel announced on Saturday it will organize another evacuation on April 7 via Egypt’s Taba border crossing for Chinese citizens, including compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan island, given the highly volatile security situation in the Middle East and the significant risk of further escalation.

The embassy in its security alert also urged Chinese nationals in the country to heighten safety precautions and avoid civil infrastructures, according to the notice. The security situation in Middle East remains intense and risk of an expanded and escalated conflict remains high. The embassy notice warned that ongoing hostilities could threaten civilian facilities such as schools, power plants and industrial parks. Media reports indicated potential targets may include Haifa Port, Rehovot railway station, Yarkon Bridge, the Jezreel Valley Tunnel, and key highways linking Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa.

The embassy further advised Chinese nationals to strengthen safety measures and relocate if necessary, stay away from critical infrastructure and sensitive sites, such as airports, ports, power plants, stations, refineries, as well as higher education institutes, research institutions, factories and vital transportation routes. People should strictly follow the instructions of Israel’s Home Front Command, avoid non-essential outings, and immediately seek shelter upon hearing alerts or sirens.

In emergencies, they should contact local police and the embassy.Chinese nationals in Israel, especially those in high-risk areas, can register for the April 7 evacuation by scanning the QR code provided by the embassy and preparing accordingly.
