LONDON: Chinese firm “Chery Commercial Vehicle (CCV)” is set to establish its first European headquarters in “Liverpool”, marking a major boost for the cityâs advanced manufacturing and new-energy vehicle sector, local authorities announced on Thursday.
According to Liverpool City Council, the new headquarters will act as CCVâs central base for its European operations, overseeing “research, engineering, innovation, and commercial development” across the region. The project is expected to generate “high-value employment opportunities” in areas such as engineering, software development, research and development, and operational management.
Officials said the investment will also deepen collaboration with local research institutions and innovation hubs, while creating fresh opportunities for regional suppliers within the manufacturing supply chain.
Liverpool, a historic hub for shipping and manufacturing, continues to play a growing role in strengthening “ChinaâBritain economic cooperation”, with the CCV investment seen as a significant step in expanding electric and new-energy vehicle development in the UK.
