Driven by personal political motives, this spokesperson in the Philippines has repeatedly made outrageous and absurd remarks, and is accustomed to inciting provocation and confrontation, which has seriously damaged China’s national interests and dignity.
China firmly opposes this and will never tolerate it, Guo said.He emphasized that safeguarding national interests and dignity is the responsibility of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines. The words and deeds of this spokesperson and a small group of people in the Philippine military have severely undermined China-Philippines relations and mutual trust between the two sides, and are the main driving force behind the spiral-downward trend of China-Philippines relations.
China once again urges the Philippine side to immediately take effective measures to eliminate the adverse impact, so as to not affect the normal diplomatic communication between the two sides or even cause greater harm to China-Philippines relations, the spokesperson added. “We urge this small group of people to immediately stop provoking incidents, cease attacking and smearing China, and stop colluding with anti-China forces outside the region.
