BEJING, (Global Times): China has urged the Netherlands to immediately correct its actions and take responsibility for restoring stability in the global semiconductor industry, following remarks by Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Vincent Karremans regarding measures against Nexperia.

Responding on Wednesday, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Commerce said that Beijing has repeatedly made clear that the Dutch government’s improper administrative interference in the internal corporate affairs of Nexperia has already triggered serious risks for the global semiconductor supply chain. The spokesperson stressed that the Netherlands must bear full responsibility for the consequences of these actions.

The spokesperson added that it is deeply concerning that, despite growing anxiety and unease within the global semiconductor industry, the Dutch side continues to maintain its stance with indifference, showing a lack of responsibility toward safeguarding the security and stability of the global chip supply chain and failing to take any substantive corrective measures.

China once again called on the Netherlands to refrain from arbitrary and reckless actions, promptly correct its mistakes, and remove barriers hindering the restoration of security and stability in the global semiconductor industry and supply chain, the spokesperson said.
