BEIJING: China’s main body for promoting international trade announced that it plans to strengthen efforts, roll out additional initiatives and deliver improved services to support two-way trade and investment between Chinese and U.S. companies in 2026.

Wang Wenshuai, spokesperson for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, made the statement at a regular press briefing. She said the council will take advantage of opportunities arising from encouraging U.S. companies and institutions to actively engage in business activities during the APEC “China Year” and the fourth China International Supply Chain Expo.

According to Wang, the council has continued to foster exchanges and expand cooperation between the Chinese and U.S. business communities over the past year.

She added that in 2025, the council authorized more than 3,900 Chinese companies to take part in 126 specialized exhibitions held in the United States, covering a total exhibition area of 52,000 square meters.

At the third China International Supply Chain Expo, U.S. exhibitors increased by 15 percent compared with the previous event, maintaining their position as the largest group of overseas participants by number, Wang said.

The council also shared updates on preparations for the Consumer Electronics Show 2026 in Las Vegas. Wang noted that, following the council’s review, seven exhibition organizers will arrange participation for 207 Chinese companies at the event.
