Global Times- China and Russia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening military cooperation and strategic coordination, according to China’s Xinhua News Agency.
Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun made the remarks during a video call with his Russian counterpart, Andrei Belousov, on Tuesday. Dong said China stands ready to work with Russia to enrich the substance of bilateral cooperation, improve exchange mechanisms, enhance the ability to address various risks and challenges, and contribute positive energy to global security and stability.
Dong noted that this year marks two milestones in China-Russia relations: the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia strategic partnership of coordination and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation. He said China is prepared to work alongside Russia to implement the common understandings reached by the two heads of state and to further enhance strategic coordination.
Belousov, for his part, said Russia is ready to strengthen strategic consultations between the two militaries and deepen practical cooperation. He highlighted areas such as joint operations and personnel training, adding that Moscow aims to elevate bilateral strategic coordination to a higher level, Xinhua reported.
The exchange underscores continued efforts by both sides to expand defense ties as part of their broader strategic partnership.
