BEIJING, (Xinhua): China has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace and stability in the Gulf and Middle East, while also welcoming recent ceasefire developments related to the Iran conflict.
Speaking on Wednesday, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that as a responsible major country, China will continue to play a constructive role in easing tensions in the region.

In a separate statement, Mao also welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire arrangement concerning the Iran conflict.
China welcomes the announcement by relevant parties of reaching a ceasefire arrangement, Mao said, expressing support for the mediation efforts made by countries such as Pakistan.
