BEIJING, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) — China has unveiled plans to introduce nationwide insurance coverage that would make childbirth largely free for families by 2026.
Announced at a national healthcare security conference on Saturday, the initiative aims to ease the financial burden on parents and encourage higher birth rates amid the country’s demographic decline.
