Global Times: When asked by a foreign journalist on Friday whether China could confirm that Afghanistan and Pakistan were holding talks in China aimed at reaching a ceasefire, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular press conference on Friday that there is no specific information to provide on this matter at present.
What I can tell you is that, Afghanistan and Pakistan are both China’s neighbors, and China has consistently supported the two sides in properly resolving their differences through dialogue and negotiation, Mao said.
China has also been actively facilitating mediation between Afghanistan and Pakistan and will continue to play a constructive role in easing tensions and improving relations between the two countries, the spokesperson said.
