ABU DHABI: Chief of Defence Staff (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor of the United Arab Emirates, during an official engagement in Abu Dhabi, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.
During the meeting, both sides discussed avenues to further enhance bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, with particular focus on economic collaboration, investment and security. They also exchanged views on regional developments and stressed the importance of continued coordination to promote peace and stability in the region.
Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed appreciation for the United Arab Emirates’ longstanding investments and continued support to Pakistan’s economy and security over the years. He noted that the cooperation reflects deep-rooted historical ties between the two brotherly countries and acknowledged the UAE leadership’s constructive role in Pakistan’s economic and social development.
The army chief affirmed that the security and stability of the United Arab Emirates remain an integral part of Pakistan’s own security, underscoring the enduring strategic partnership between the two nations. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to expanding joint efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations in ways that serve the interests of both countries and contribute to regional peace, stability and prosperity.
