A ministerial-level seminar on development cooperation among Global South countries was recently held in Beijing, bringing together nearly 30 senior officials and policy researchers from 12 countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
During the seminar, Chinese experts outlined the country’s development philosophy and shared perspectives on the development priorities of Global South nations, focusing on areas including economic and trade cooperation, industrialization, green development, digital transformation, and people-to-people exchanges.
Participants from countries including Brazil, Egypt, Malaysia, and South Africa engaged in detailed discussions with Chinese experts on learning from China’s development experience and expanding practical cooperation.
Attendees said stronger development cooperation among Global South countries reflects a growing trend and aligns with their shared modernization goals. They also noted that China’s experience in the digital economy and green development provides valuable reference for countries seeking development paths suited to their own national conditions.
The eight-day seminar was hosted by the Development Research Center of the State Council and organized by the Center for International Knowledge on Development.
