The opening session of the Second Senior Officials’ Meeting under APEC China 2026 was held in Shanghai on Monday, according to Xinhua.
During the meeting, participants are set to review progress on APEC cooperation in the first half of the year, identify early outcomes, and prepare groundwork for upcoming leaders’ meetings and related events scheduled later in the year.
This marks the third time China is hosting APEC activities. The APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting is scheduled to take place in Shenzhen in November 2026.
