BEIJING, (Xinhua) — A Chinese defense spokesperson said on Monday that China stands ready to work with the United States to promote the steady and long-term development of a stable and positive military-to-military relationship.
Jiang Bin, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, made the remarks responding to a media query about the recent meeting between Chinese and U.S. heads of state.
The steady development of the military-to-military relationship between China and the United States is in the shared interests of both sides, and is also the common expectation of the international community, Jiang said.
Chinese military is willing to work with the U.S. side to deliver on the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, respect each other’s core interests and major concerns, strengthen communication and dialogue, manage differences, enhance trust and dispel misgivings, promote the steady and long-term development of a stable and positive China-U.S. military-to-military relationship along the right track, and play a positive role in fostering a bright future for China-U.S. relations and safeguarding world peace and stability, he said.
