BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump will hold “in-depth exchange of views” on key issues related to China-U.S. relations as well as world peace and development, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday.
Guo made the remarks during a regular press briefing while responding to a question about Trump’s upcoming state visit to China from May 13 to 15, marking the first visit to the country by a U.S. president in nine years.
He said China is ready to work with the United States “in the spirit of equality, respect, and mutual benefit” to enhance cooperation, manage differences, and bring “more stability and certainty into a turbulent and changing world.”
