BEIJING : China on Wednesday expressed support for all initiatives aimed at ending the U.S.-Iran conflict and praised Pakistan for its role in facilitating a temporary ceasefire.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said China welcomes efforts that help bring the conflict to an end and commended Pakistan for enabling the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, as well as for maintaining an impartial and balanced mediating position.
Guo made the statement in response to reports that the U.S. side indicated peace talks with Iran are expected to take place in Pakistan within the next two days.
