BEIJING (Xinhua): Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday emphasized the need for deeper and more effective strategic coordination between China and Russia to firmly defend their legitimate interests and preserve unity among Global South nations.
Xi made these remarks during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Beijing.
Highlighting the importance of bilateral ties, Xi said the stability and certainty of China-Russia relations are especially significant amid a shifting and uncertain global environment. He also urged both nations to fulfill their roles as major powers and permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.
