Global Times: During German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s visit to China, leaders of the two countries will exchange views on issues of mutual concern, stated Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning on Tuesday, in response to a question about whether China plans to raise the Ukraine issue during Merz’s China visit.
Regarding the Ukraine crisis, Mao reiterated that China is not a party to the Ukraine issue. Since the outbreak of the Ukraine crisis, China has consistently maintained an objective and impartial stance, actively promoting peace talks.
“The Ukraine crisis is not and should not become an issue between China and Europe. We support an early political resolution of the crisis through diplomatic efforts to achieve long-term peace and stability in Europe,” Mao stated.
