LAHORE (MNN); Mega Motor Company (MMC), in collaboration with BYD — the world’s leading New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer — has introduced the BYD Sealion 7 and BYD Atto 2 in Pakistan, marking a significant milestone in the country’s shift towards clean, smart and sustainable transportation.

The two fully electric SUVs were unveiled at an exclusive dealership event in Lahore. With these launches, BYD-MMC has further expanded its NEV lineup in Pakistan, offering options for both premium performance enthusiasts and urban daily commuters. Nationwide bookings for both models have now opened.

Positioned as a luxury-oriented, performance-driven electric SUV, the BYD Sealion 7 is designed to compete with top-tier global EVs in terms of comfort, technology and safety. One of BYD’s strongest sellers in the Asia-Pacific region, the Sealion 7 produces 308 horsepower (230 kW) and 380 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, with a braking distance of 37 metres from 100 km/h to a complete stop. It offers a driving range of up to 567 kilometres on a single charge.

The BYD Atto 2, meanwhile, has been introduced as a practical and intelligent electric SUV suited to everyday Pakistani driving conditions. Featuring a modern design and smart technology, the vehicle includes NFC keyless entry, a 50W wireless charging pad, electrically adjustable and ventilated seats, and a user-friendly interior layout. The Atto 2 reaches 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and delivers up to 75 per cent lower running and maintenance costs compared to similar internal combustion engine vehicles, with a range of up to 380 kilometres.

Both vehicles are built on BYD’s advanced proprietary technologies, including the Blade Battery, known for its high safety standards, durability and thermal stability. They also feature BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 and an integrated 8-in-1 electric powertrain, improving efficiency, performance and ride comfort.

Speaking at the launch, BYD Pakistan Country Head Lei Jian said the introduction of the two models demonstrates BYD’s commitment to Pakistan’s automotive transformation. He noted that the Sealion 7 and Atto 2 offer globally proven technology while making the shift to electric mobility more accessible for local consumers.

BYD Pakistan – Mega Motor Company Vice President Sales and Strategy Danish Khaliq said the new vehicles cater to diverse consumer needs, ranging from cost-effective urban mobility to high-end performance. He added that electric mobility represents the future of Pakistan’s transport sector.

The BYD Atto 2 has been priced at Rs7.29 million with a booking amount of Rs1.4 million, while the BYD Sealion 7 is available at Rs15.490 million with bookings starting at Rs3 million.

A limited-time introductory offer is available for bookings made until February 28, which includes a complimentary 7 kW wall-mounted home charger. Prices include freight and inland transit insurance. The offer also features a 10-year warranty on the low-voltage LFP battery. Additionally, Atto 2 buyers will receive two free charging sessions at HubcoGreen stations, while Sealion 7 customers will be provided free installation of the home charging unit.
