Xinhua- China convened its annual Central Economic Work Conference in Beijing from Wednesday to Thursday, setting the key priorities for the country’s economic agenda in 2026.
President Xi Jinping, who also serves as general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivered a major address outlining the strategic direction for the coming year.
In his remarks, Xi reviewed China’s economic performance in 2025, assessed current economic conditions, and laid out plans for next year’s economic work.Officials noted that 2025 proved to be an extraordinary year, during which China successfully achieved its main economic and social development targets.
