## Pakistani Pavilion Steals the Spotlight at NUIST International Culture Exhibition

The Pakistani student contingent at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) captivated attendees as a standout feature of the 11th International Culture Exhibition and Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Campus Open Day on June 14. Among the 39 nations represented, Pakistan’s vibrant cultural showcase drew significant crowds eager to experience its rich traditions.

An authentic Pakistani culinary spread proved irresistible to visitors. A large pot of aromatic biryani was consumed within mere minutes of serving, while delicacies such as spicy chicken karhai, sweet mutanjan rice, creamy kheer, seviyan dessert, freshly baked chapati, and crispy pakora sustained a constant stream of food enthusiasts throughout the event.

Beyond the gastronomic offerings, the booth provided a visual immersion into Pakistan’s heritage. Stunning displays featured iconic landmarks including Islamabad’s Faisal Mosque, Lahore’s Badshahi Mosque, and the revered Tomb of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. Vibrant posters highlighted Pakistan’s distinctive truck art culture and elegant Urdu calligraphy. Traditional Multani performances further energized the presentation, adding rhythmic vitality.

“This is more than just a booth – it’s a window into our beautiful country,” stated Mashood, one of the student organizers. “We wanted every visitor to leave with a deeper appreciation for Pakistani culture, and judging by the reactions, we succeeded.” First-year student Waqas, adapting to life in Nanjing, found the experience deeply rewarding. “Seeing Chinese and international students enjoy our food and ask thoughtful questions makes me proud to represent Pakistan here. I can’t wait for the next similar event,” he shared.

The day-long festival featured stage performances by students from China, Mozambique, Morocco, Russia, and Uzbekistan, cultivating a global village ambiance. However, Pakistan’s multi-sensory presentation, seamlessly blending flavors and visuals, emerged as one of the day’s most memorable experiences.
