China is prepared to continue contributing to peace and stability in the Middle East through its own initiatives, guided by its four-point proposal for regional peace, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Wednesday. He stressed that disputes and regional tensions should be resolved through dialogue and negotiation, while opposing the use or threat of force.
Guo welcomed the US-Iran memorandum committing both sides to respect sovereignty, avoid military action, and refrain from interfering in each other’s internal affairs, describing it as a positive signal for the international community. He said China will continue supporting efforts that promote peace, while backing Iran’s sovereignty, security, and efforts to improve ties with regional countries.
