China has held the inaugural ceremony for its “Outstanding Diplomatic Envoy Medal” in Beijing, recognizing eight foreign diplomats for their contributions to strengthening ties between China and their respective countries, according to CCTV.

The award was presented on Monday, with recipients including former Russian ambassador to China Andrey Denisov, former Cambodian ambassador Khek Caimealy Sysoda, Pakistani Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Shakhrat Nuryshev, Saudi Arabian Ambassador Abdulrahman Ahmad Al-Harbi, former Chadian ambassador Allamaye Halina, Colombian Ambassador Sergio Cabrera Cardenas, and former Uruguayan ambassador Fernando Lugris.

The medal honors diplomats who have played notable roles in promoting friendship, cooperation, and bilateral relations with China.

The ceremony highlights Beijing’s emphasis on diplomatic engagement and strengthening international partnerships through recognition of long-serving foreign envoys.
